GHOST OWL FARM SANCTUARY

Opened in 2021 on beautiful Vashon Island, the Ghost Owl Farm Sanctuary houses over 90 animals and equines, including horses, pigs, cows, goats, sheep, llamas, donkeys, and more. These long-term tenants are cared for and looked after every single day. The picturesque facility sits on nearly 50 acres.

Our mission was born out of the heartbreaking reality that horses are often sold for slaughter. To address this urgent need, we established a safe and nurturing environment where these vulnerable animals can live out their lives in happiness and security.

Our devoted staff ensures that every animal's needs are met, providing ample love, top-quality medical care, and plenty of opportunities for physical and mental stimulation. While we do not ride our rescue horses, all animals at the sanctuary have the freedom to roam in spacious fields and enjoy fresh air in stalls with runs. At Ghost Owl Farm, our primary focus is on the individual well-being and happiness of each resident, fostering an environment where they can simply be themselves.

location representatives

As we do a large number of out-of-state rescues, we have some wonderful ECPR representatives that live outside of Washington that assist with rescuing our pets, fostering them, transporting them to immediate medical appointments, and more as we prepare them for transport to our main locations here in Seattle.

Sonja not only assists with rescuing, but she is also heading up our educational department. Please reach out to her to learn more about our e-learning animal welfare curriculum currently available to homeschoolers and digital learning students.
